It is that time of year for the annual bitterbrush, sagebrush, and shrub planting on Tex Creek WMA. This will benefit upland game and big game animals on the WMA. Tex Creek WMA is a vital winter range for mule deer, elk, and a year-round habitat for upland game like Sharp-tailed grouse. We will also be helping with a planting on a preserve in Pocatello, and wrap it all up with a seed collection/planting.
When: October 28th, 29th & 30th, which are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday plantings. We will meet at the IDFG office at 8 am and carpool each day.
10/29 Wednesday Planting in Pocatello with native shrubs.
Who: We need 10+ volunteers each day to help with this project. The more help we get, the faster we can finish the plantings.
Bring: lunch, drinks, work boots, gloves, and weather-appropriate clothing. I will have a cooler full of drinks.
Remember, this will be hard work, and we will be moving across uneven ground. So please be willing and able to help. Keep in mind this is subject to change depending on the weather.
Come join the fun and let’s make a difference one plant at a time.
