EMBRACE a STREAM Matching Funds Challenge
The Snake River Cutthroats and our friends can add to the funding for our Embrace a Stream grant. If we raise $500 that amount will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Trout Unlimited and we could win prizes too!
The EAS grant is for a drum fish screen to be constructed to screen off the Welsh/Foster irrigation canal where entrainment of Yellowstone cutthroat trout is possible. The location of the screen is just off Rainey Creek approximately 7 stream miles above the confluence of Rainey Creek and the South Fork of the Snake River near Swan Valley, Idaho. This drum screen will replace an ineffective bubbler screen that has been dismantled and bypassed. Matching funds for this project will be coming from the Eastside and Westside Conservation Districts and Cabela’s. After construction, the maintenance and cleaning of this screen and 6 others on Rainey Creek will be done by Snake River Cutthroat chapter members.
