SUMMARY:Moore BDA Project
DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) is looking for volunteers to join us for a Beaver Dam Analog (BDA) project on Trail Creek\, a tributary of Antelope Creek near Moore\, Idaho\, on September 18th–19th. BDAs are structures designed to mimic the natural function of beaver dams. They help slow water\, improve stream habitat\, increase water storage\, and encourage healthier riparian areas.\nWe’ll be working together in the field to install BDAs to improve habitat near Antelope Creek. We’ll provide instruction\, tools and work as a team to complete several structures.\n\n\nProject Details:\nWhen: September 18th–19th which is Friday and Saturday\nWhere: Antelope Creek past Moore\, Idaho. Moore is between Arco and Mackay; the site is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from Idaho Falls.\nCamping: We plan to camp near the project site at the Antelope Creek access site/campground. Please bring a tent\, trailer\, and camping setup if you plan to stay overnight.\nMeals: IDFG will provide breakfast\, lunch\, dinner and lots of drinking water during the project. Looking for camp cooks also!\nWhat to bring: Work clothes\, sturdy boots\, muck boots\, gloves\, personal water bottle\, sleeping/camping gear\, and sun/weather protection.\n\n\nThis is a great opportunity to get outside\, work alongside IDFG staff and other volunteers\, and make a direct contribution to improving stream and wildlife habitat.\n\n\nIf you’re interested in joining us\, please reply to this email and let us know which day(s) you can attend and whether you plan to camp overnight. Just need a head count for planning\nMore details on the project will be sent out later.\nThank you\, and we hope you can join us!\n\n\nGerren B. SUMMARY:From The Friends of the Teton River
DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Teton River\, American Rivers\, and Idaho Rivers United are teaming up to host a film screening in Idaho Falls on September 29. The film\, Second Chance\, is a powerful 18-minute documentary about the Teton River and its remarkable recovery since the 1976 Teton Dam collapse. Details about the screening and the film are below.\n\nDetails:\n\n\nDate: September 29\, 2026\n\n\nLocation: TAB Auditorium (Room 200)\, Idaho State University (1776 Science Center Dr\, Idaho Falls\, ID 83402)\n\n\nDoors open at 6:00 PM\, film begins around 6:20 PM\n\n\nPanel discussion to follow\n\n\nFree and open to the public\, but tickets are limited and must be reserved in advance\n\n\nNo food or beverage sold on site\n\n\nTickets: \n \nReserve your free tickets here: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/second-chance-film-screening-idaho-falls-id\n \nSecond Chance Film Summary:\nThe Teton River is one of the last strongholds in the world for Yellowstone Cutthroat trout\, a working agricultural river\, and the lifeblood of Teton Valley and downstream communities. But in 1976\, everything changed. The catastrophic collapse of the Teton Dam unleashed nearly 80 billion gallons of water\, killing 11 people\, flooding hundreds of thousands of acres\, and causing billions of dollars in damage.\n50 years later\, the river — and the people who depend on it — continue to recover\, rebuild\, and reimagine the future of the watershed. Through the eyes of anglers\, scientists\, ranchers\, and river stewards\, Second Chance follows the collaboration unfolding to protect the Teton River\, a vital native trout fishery and one of the West’s last intact river ecosystems\, before history has the chance to repeat itself.\nWatch the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OL4_KjjofQw
