SUMMARY:Moore BDA Project
DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) is looking for volunteers to join us for a Beaver Dam Analog (BDA) project on Trail Creek\, a tributary of Antelope Creek near Moore\, Idaho\, on September 18th–19th. BDAs are structures designed to mimic the natural function of beaver dams. They help slow water\, improve stream habitat\, increase water storage\, and encourage healthier riparian areas.\nWe’ll be working together in the field to install BDAs to improve habitat near Antelope Creek. We’ll provide instruction\, tools and work as a team to complete several structures.\n\n\nProject Details:\nWhen: September 18th–19th which is Friday and Saturday\nWhere: Antelope Creek past Moore\, Idaho. Moore is between Arco and Mackay; the site is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from Idaho Falls.\nCamping: We plan to camp near the project site at the Antelope Creek access site/campground. Please bring a tent\, trailer\, and camping setup if you plan to stay overnight.\nMeals: IDFG will provide breakfast\, lunch\, dinner and lots of drinking water during the project. Looking for camp cooks also!\nWhat to bring: Work clothes\, sturdy boots\, muck boots\, gloves\, personal water bottle\, sleeping/camping gear\, and sun/weather protection.\n\n\nThis is a great opportunity to get outside\, work alongside IDFG staff and other volunteers\, and make a direct contribution to improving stream and wildlife habitat.\n\n\nIf you’re interested in joining us\, please reply to this email and let us know which day(s) you can attend and whether you plan to camp overnight. DESCRIPTION:Hannah Murphy from TU is looking for help planting trees at the Deere Parks WMU.\nThe event will be held October 30th and 31st noting that work won’t go all day Saturday for Halloween. This is a large effort with several hundred containers to be planted. IDFG/BLM/TU are soliciting other volunteers and will likely have additional groups to support as well. DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is requesting assistance with a habitat restoration project at the Deer Parks Wildlife Mitigation Unit (DPWMU) near Menan\, Idaho\, in Jefferson County. \nThe project is scheduled for October 30 and 31\, 2026\, and will involve planting approximately 4\,300 trees and shrubs\, ranging in size from 1-gallon to 5-gallon root stock. Deer fencing will also be installed to protect the newly planted vegetation from wildlife. \nThis project will provide an opportunity to participate in meaningful habitat restoration work on Deer Parks WMU while developing teamwork\, responsibility\, and hands-on conservation skills. \nItems Needed:\n– Gloves\n– Jackets/coats appropriate for cold weather\n– Closed-toe shoes\n– Warm hats\n– Eye protection (optional)\n– Water\n– Snacks \nTools Required:\n– Shovels\n– Fencing pliers \n  \nLunch and beverages will be provided! \n  \nLocation: Deer Parks WMU shop.
