SUMMARY:Boots on the Ground Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Hannah Murphy from TU is looking for help planting trees at the Deere Parks WMU.\nThe event will be held October 30th and 31st noting that work won’t go all day Saturday for Halloween. This is a large effort with several hundred containers to be planted. IDFG/BLM/TU are soliciting other volunteers and will likely have additional groups to support as well. Camping is available onsite and we’ll likely do a warm group lunch/dinner\, etc. Time each day TBD. If you think you can help\, please let me know so that I can help Hannah with planning. SUMMARY:IDFG Request for Assistance – Deer Parks Wildlife Mitigation Unit Tree Planting
DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is requesting assistance with a habitat restoration project at the Deer Parks Wildlife Mitigation Unit (DPWMU) near Menan\, Idaho\, in Jefferson County. \nThe project is scheduled for October 30 and 31\, 2026\, and will involve planting approximately 4\,300 trees and shrubs\, ranging in size from 1-gallon to 5-gallon root stock. Deer fencing will also be installed to protect the newly planted vegetation from wildlife. \nThis project will provide an opportunity to participate in meaningful habitat restoration work on Deer Parks WMU while developing teamwork\, responsibility\, and hands-on conservation skills. \nItems Needed:\n– Gloves\n– Jackets/coats appropriate for cold weather\n– Closed-toe shoes\n– Warm hats\n– Eye protection (optional)\n– Water\n– Snacks \nTools Required:\n– Shovels\n– Fencing pliers \n  \nLunch and beverages will be provided! \n  \nLocation: Deer Parks WMU shop.
